turtle was practising anchor setup yesterday and told me i could go down to eh if i wanted to climb or something.
i did go down, but i only bouldered a bit.
spent more time screwing in holds.
then belay turtle for 2 ascents(one of which he cheated...you can one, don;t say cannot...)
haha, ended up putting some insane holds....one day must create some crazy route using those. mrs munz came down when we were packing up and she reminded me that i have yet to finish setting the pink route.
but that has been settled, next tuesday. i'll be down and it'll be done.
however, one thing though, that bothered me a bit, was how people associate me with climbing well.
not just yesterday, but for quite sometime liao...
alot of people like to say that i very good or i what what what and it makes it hard for me to respond.
the only thing that i've learnt to do is smile faintly, deny and keep quiet.
makes me out to be some guy who has attained some unobtainable skill or something which is totally untrue...
and then when i try to give people advice, they say, "ahhh easy for you to say lah..." or "such advice only applicable to some people..", and then don't try.
hai...when like that...don't like leh...
if i climb better, it's cos God decided that my hands are yet to become invalid, and so if i can still use them, i'll climb hard when i can.
if succeed, then good lah, don't need to give any more attention than is necessary...
and instead of saying how good others are, why not try for yourself, fall, and become better in the process? lidat then will grow mah.
learn to fail, then try, try and try again. finally will become better....
i think climbing can be quite a humbling sport.
cos when you're up there, all eyes are on you, and when you fall, everybody will see it. but it can puff you up too cos if you turn it around, it means that when you succeed, everybody wil also get to see...
the other thing about climbing is that it CAN be a very lonely sport.
i mean, if you're just gonna boulder, you can do it by yourself and you don't need with you...
sometimes it's good, cos it's convenient and sometimes you'd want to be alone.
other times, of course, it just bites and you'd rather not climb all together.
but anyway, that's that for now...
looking forward to next tues. more route setting fun. yeahey
