when you're finally free..........you visit the science centre

yes.
i have been waiting for this day since the start of the third term.
skool's officially out TODAY!
the hols have come!
and this coming week's gonna be way different fromt all the other sept hols thus far.
radically different.
the reason is smple enough.

tonight, mr spherical flys off to china for some school trip thing, and won't be back until the 2nd saturday from today.
tomorrow night, my folks will be flying off to china to shadow my brother and get carried away with adventures of their own.
and they'll only be back a week later.

given the situation that i am in, it can only mean one thing.

HAVOC WEEK!!!
time to chiong all my unaccomplished boyish fantasies!

hence in view of what lies ahead, proper planning is required to maximise my every waking hour.

this is a list of things to do in the following week.

1. make, launch, and film a proper sparkler rocket(note to self:buy cateye brand).
2. conduct, and film, the experiments on the interaction of diet coke with eggshells and mentos.
3. go swimming at jurong east.
4. visit the science centre.
5. leisure walk the zoo.
6. spend an afternoon on a train reading, or exploring the library.
7. go cycling at night to some crazy place.
8. go climbing and set another roof route.
9. paint the racer.
10. watch the spelling bee movie and eat salted pop corn.
11. arrange a rendezvous with robert to catch up.
12. eat sushi buffet. (hopefully with robert. dong and kc have also expressed interest)
13. maybe could even squeeze some time to play soccer!

(of course to assure everyone that i did CONSIDER studying (just in case it finally comes to pass that i didn't))
i will also study during this september hols too.

just a bit more...

in the last 60 hours, i have bathed just once.
i went to school today with nothing done.
no physics tutorial. no maths tutorial. no chem tutorial. no gp.
worked on a lit presentation but that didn't turn out too well. i mean the slides. the presentaion was ok, managed to smoke as usual.
once again i have survived.
i wrote down all the lessons today on my fullscap pad and crossed out each lesson as it came to a close.
and now i can say that i am free.
the moment the last bell rang, it signaled my emancipation.
the holidays have, in essence,

begun.

tomorrow got one last chem test, but that's a small matter, and will not dampen my spirit.

went to climb just now, and getting ever closer to my goal...
just that it seems each time i attempt the route, i leave a piece of me with the wall. but i guess that's just a small price to pay.

went for dinner after that with one of my favorite story tellers.
talked about cycling and adventure races and stuff.

after taking the train to simei, i bought chocolate ice crem from the ice cream lady.
it was late, and i wanted bread, but there was no more bread, so she gave me double biscuit instead.
stood at the entrance of the station and enjoyed my ice cream while listening to music and observing the people who came out of the station.
what a great way to start off the hols.
shall come up with a list of things to do this hols.

The Tale of the White Stones

Once upon a time there lived a young boy at 19A harvey avenue. He was slightly daft, but remained a happy child nonetheless. One fine day he went for a walk with Tita Pearlie, and as they were walking along the road, he saw these white stones scattered along the sidewalks.

Being the inquisitive child that he was, he went over to one of them and picked it up. He examined it and saw that they were slightly different from the white stones that he would usually find covering the bases of the palm trees along the way.
These white stones were rounder and were more varied in their sizes, while those white stones were angular and consistently smaller.

However, apart from their shape and size, he did not notice anything else about this white stone that stood out as particularly different from those he would usually find.

Quickly losing interest in his research specimen, he carelessly tossed it into the drain beside him and continued on with his walk.

"Poof!"

He turned around, and to his great surprise, the white stone that was previously in his hand had been reduced to a fine powder!

"Wow," he thought to himself, "how did THAT happen?"

He scanned the path before him and quickly found a similar white stone. Reaching down to pick it up, he wondered if he could manage to repeat what he had just done.

"How marvellous it would be if I had discovered something new to play with!" were the thoughts that flashed through his tiny brain.

Throwing it into the drain again, only harder this time(just to be sure), the same thing happened!
"Poof!" went the stone and a cloud of powder was the next thing he saw as the stone hit the side of the drain.

"Great. Let's find more stones. This is fun!" were his next thoughts.

He tried throwing larger ones and smaller ones, irregular ones and nice round ones, just to see if there would be any difference. And there was. The shapes did not alter the effect that much, but the SIZES did.
The larger ones would have bits of stone not powderize(as he would call it) but split in different directions instead amidst the powder cloud.

"Kind of like a mini firework," he thought, "only this was always white, and didn't need any dangerous fire to start it. Just a good swing of the arm was all that was needed."

He was around 3 years old when he first learnt of the white stones, and everytime he went for walks with Tita Pearlie he would pick up the white stones on the street and toss them into the drains by the sidewalks.

Sometimes, he would throw them onto the road to leave a white circle on it. Other times, he would pick the wrong stone and wonder why that one didn't burst before moving on to the next one.
Or he would put a few together and position it nicely so that a car would drive over it. He liked to see the big clouds that would sometimes erupt from under the tires of the passing cars.

However, as the years passed, things began to change. The overhead wires that once filled his skies and kept him in awe slowly vanished. The nice uncle outside his house that would sweep the roads also became less frequent in his visits(His bright-colored clothes always interested the boy).

The white stones too, began to disappear. What once was easily found was now a raresight for the boy. Every now and then he would spot one or two, and he would gladly toss it to watch it burst into a white cloud. It still does, but he rarely finds them anymore.

But that's the way things are.

The end.
If youth knew, If age could.

what a day! hoho.

came back yesterday to find my computer turned on with itunes opened and a cockroach lying on my study room floor.
rushed to the toilet.
did my business.
came out, used computer, then slept beside the cockroach.
day end.

woke up early this morning!
on reaching church,
greeted by hnin-p'yu(audacious)who was not supposed to be there,
saw a china girl whom i didn't know would be there,
and arranged a dinner with someone that will soon no longer be there.
later today had dinner with someone who is no longer there,
but that later.

saw someone leave church in a seemingly dejected manner. next time must go and talk a bit. try to encourage yah? try at least...

suaned wj for her poor coordination together with dong.
think that was the start of some vendetta or something that was to last for the rest of the day...dunno if it will continue even further...

went for lunch with dong, ah jie, wj, cherry and pris.
suanned wj somemore over the bus issue and women accepting chivalry and stuff,
she also eventually found out her name entry in our phones and demanded that we change them, which was essentially a futile effort altogether, but it proved to be a good laugh anyhow.
the three guys ate beef noodles and whatever was left over from the girls...which meant more or less half of their food. thanks ah.

went for st-e, and yet again that same lovely couple bought us tea!
but sweeter this time, pokka green tea!
weather was rather fine today,
but after we finished we still had each-a-cup.
i personally enjoyed watching kids amuse themselves with a monkey bar and a roller-thing...but nvm that..
talked with dong and he said he'd be able to go down next year. think i'll go with him too. king iv.

went down to the restaurant after resting.
wj thought we were late when we were actually already waiting upstairs...hai....coordination sister...
sat in between cherry and kl.
wj behaved especially 'nice', which was very, terribly frightening...dong felt it too i think...
chery was just being herself, gave me a third of her rice and half of her cake...she ate all the durian, give me the cake and cream. but that's ok.
coupled with some other funny instances from the rest,
the evening was quite pleasant...
elder tell funny army stories, and abi also know some, next time must get her to share more...

elder also bought durian cake.
and found out to his dismay that mr ong dun like, dong dun like, mei dun like, wj rarely eat, i rarely eat and cherry watching her cholestrol.
so left who?
elder and abi.
in the end give the rest to mei to give her folks.
elder insisted on sending everyone home, however mr ong declined...
...hmm...
went to church to find a lorry parked at the entrance, so we were held up for quite a bit, but that was not much of big thing actually.
the moon was very thin in the evening...a silver lining of moon...very nice.

finally got home after hearing many things from elder on the ride back.
realized taht only a week of skool left!
yayay!!
nevermind that exams are coming, holiday is coming!
exciting things lie ahead...

an analogy to describe the incident yesterday

when a log falls into a river, i will float.
when the river leads to a waterfall, the log will also reach the water fall eventually.
the waterfall will be very powerful, and it will push on the log very strongly.
however that may not make the log fully submerge, nor in fact push the log down deep enough such that it enters the cave behind the water fall through the entrance at the bottom of the waterfall.
why is that?
well the log could be too big to fit through the entrance easily.
or the log may be too buoyant.
or the waterfall maynot be supplying enough water to push the log down and over.
so then will the log be left there for eternity, never ever crossing over?
if not then what can be done instead?
well, the log could be cut up into smaller pieces so as to make it easier to fit it through the entrance,
or the water fall could be made stronger for a short period of time by damming it up and then releasing the dammed up water, or the log could be pushed by an external force instead of just leaving the pushing to the water from the waterfall.
a crane or excavator could push the log, for example.
finally enabling it to reach the other side of the waterfall by submerging it deep enough to pass through the entrance.
i washed my hands with soap after that.

Senses 5.1 = 5.1 ways to enjoy the world.

one sound i won't get sick of:
the rustling of leaves on the passing of a gentle breeze

one sight i won't get sick of:
the moon, bright and round in the night sky

one smell i won't get sick of:
the scent of an approaching storm in the distance

one taste i won't get sick of:
the mellow sweetness of freshly steamed white rice

one touch i won't get sick of:
the refreshing sensation of a fresh gale against my body

a world full of wonders we often take for granted.

i kind of enjoyed this list,
will make more in future.

i have survived the weekly Longest Day.

had another sleeping bout.

kfc.
slept at 5.
yesterday.
woke up at 7.
today.
left for school.
haven't bathed since.

did the dreaded aces day workout for p.e.
swell..
3 years in a row.
but at least can play soccer after that. yay.

greatly relieved when the last bell rang.
managed to survive the day relatively unscathed.
the sleep was helpful, i guess...
but it sure didn't help when i came with tutorials completely unprepared.
but i have lived through worse, and today wasn't that bad.

think it's about time i started working for my promos...
first i'll clean up the study.

20060821

all names have been concealed to protect the identities of the parties involved.

(with regards to kyle)

uncle l: "aiyah, too bad for you auntie n, you missed the boat liao, you're one year too late."

auntie n: "huh? you mean he got girlfriend already ah?"

uncle l: "no. YOU got boyfriend already."

auntie n: "oh yah!....haha..."

oops.

good thing lamb not there. haha...
but i think he will just laugh also...

pleeease wait for me dear melaaaka~~ the truth is one daaaaaaaay i'll see you~~

in the end never play today. so sad.
aiyah hopefully this week can play.
was chatting with kah seng recently, heard he and his friends took part, and got runners-up in myfc sports event again!
i still owe him his last year birthday present...siao liao...bought liao but just haven't been able to get it to him...
hopefully year-end holiday can go down with bob and others and play with them...and visit myfc or something...simple simple one
can be like sports ambassadors like that, heh...i wish.
SO! KIV!

did st-e instead...and a lovely couple from church presented me and dong a gift of love!
PURE bubble green tea and bubble red tea.
bitter sweet love.
lol.
also learnt abit more about that situation from dong while waiting for bus
...so ministry was a factor...greatly encouraged ah.
if it were me, with my mentality now,
i would wait.
see how i guess.
but sometimes waiting becomes dragging.
then it would be better to chiong instead.
much wisdom is needed in such a decision i think...like duh.

so complicating. haha, so this morning message ah...must think abit more about yoda's words...

bridge was fun. but a bit stressful sometimes.
so this is how it must have felt huh?

20060820

why? you thirsty ah?

yes, crazy is an apt word.
woke up, worked on a lesson for chin kai.
he was early, i was at home, trying to print a worksheet...in the end gave up struggling, no time anyway.
changed, left.
found out my racer was still parked at eastpoint.
had to use the *gasps* dahon...
went down, decided to just bring ck st-e instead. lesson another day.
bumped into turtle at mrt before st-e, realised i forgot the concert packages!
finished st-e, chionged home.
raining. diao.
eventually managed to get to dbs on time with the stuff thanks to some good coordination and God's grace. earlier than the rest of the team in fact...
met ahs guys, good thing i chose the right attire.
if not, confirm super outdressed...not helpful...
watched the concert.
well done.
i think they were fresher today cos it was the only performance of the day, and the last of the tour. must've felt great when they played the last song.
shared, nice bunch of kids, better get their response slips back soon.
remembered our close proximity to maxwell!!
mai tu liao,
get a group and spread the love of HUM JIN BENG!
ran to make sure not sold out, funny.
my bad though...do better next time.
but good came out of this, need to act soon, tmr would be good.
joon chung seemed to have enjoyed himself...hoho.
headed home.
more tales of heroism from GTOCH.
TEACHING IS BECOMING EVER MORE APPEALING
....hilarious...steal watermelon....

double-day combo from miss lin! haha
that's prolly the max though.
keep hoping if u want...

an inheritance undefiled...

crazy day.
crazier day tomorrow!
all this over the carpenter's tools.

today the c.t.i. team was at compassvale.
i headed down after school for the publicity thing, and then i got lost.

finally though, it was the checkered-shirt students and kyle's voice that led me to the school.
i followed a trail of checkered shirt student which i hoped were compassvale kids and then, i knew i was getting warmer when i heard somone singing tonghua in the distance.

LO AND BEHOLD!
THERE WAS THE SCHOOL!

good response from the school, kids were calling for encores, girls were screaming for more cards of kyle, some wanted his email address, some paid up on the spot.
but i could see that they were tired. maybe tired isn't even the word, exhausted.
their songs were a bit off this morning and i think it's the effect of 2 weeks of endless singing and singing and singing.

today's garage was worse.
some of them could not reach the notes.
sometimes the music was louder than the vocals.
they were off beat at certain times, playing too fast or too slow.
too much showmanship and not enough voice also.
feedback was a big problem too, don't know why but sound was quite bad.
quite a big difference between what i heard at romans trail and what i heard today.

but i was greatly encouraged.

maybe because i did not have students today, so i could take my time and just observe the whole event from the sidelines.
when it got down to the gospel sharing segment when group leaders would take over, i just stood by one of the pillars and silently watched.
i was nearly moved to tears, i don't know why, emotionalism or something i don't know.

you stand there and you see all sorts of kids sitting with all sorts of peoples.
and those peoples were sharing the gospel in their own unique ways all looking like what they shared meant the world to them.
you see mun heng, pei ling, esther, james lee, joon chung...all doing the same thing...
focussed, their eyes looking in just one direction. Christ's.

this was great.
really encouraged.
reminds you of the gravity of the task that has been entrusted to us.

decided to help out with the packing up since my hands were free for the using.
worked up an appetite. sweat alot also.
upstairs was one madhouse.
all preparing for tomorrow's concert.
wah really going to be crazy tomorrow...

more and more kids joining the waiting list
(WAITING LIST!? I'VE NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A THING!! SINCE WHEN GOT SUCH THING!?!?)
we lack personnels
(LACK PERSONNELS!!??! HOW OFTEN DOES THIS HAPPEN!?)
start mobilising everybody we can, heard there's more strain on the girl's side, not enouigh girl personnel.

so exciting.
better make good use of this opportunity.
sa ka liao.
still need to prepare somethings tonight before i sleep.
CHIONG AH!!!!

happy birthday to turtle!!
24 liao. and he STILL remembers i owe him...
siao liao.

Only one life to live,
and then it is past.
Only what is done for Christ,
that is what will last.

20060817

do i do that? i think not. experience is to my benefit.

aiyah it's too sticky a night to do homework....
(not that it's ever a good night to do homework...the dreaded thing...)
i hate sticky nights.
i stick to everything. hate that feeling...i even stick to myself...arrgghh..

i like it when it rains and i'm in bed, and i can see the rain drops roll down my window...that's wonderful, but when it's unbearably humid it feels terrible.
maybe i need bath. that may help...

today i had the pleasure of watching people doze off during a lecture.
it's such a funny sight, i always(ok, maybe not always, but more often than not) do it but i rarely get to see it up close.
chunk it was nodding off beside me, and yong sheng was just sound asleep behind him, it's amazing he didn't snore...he looked so comfortable.
nodding off is interesting enough, it's like a metronome. the same thing over and over and over and over, how come we don't get tired of it?
fascinating.

20060816

train rides good

what am i saying?
it's not that complicating.

we are united by our faith.
that's it.

spending more time and effort learning about others helps you better understand others and is a step towards growing closer.

close friends don't come about overnight.
we must be willing to be transparent if we hope for others to do the same.

multiple reasons for us to learn.
concern, cooperation, interest...etc.

forget it if we're hoping for people to hang around us.
we're not that great.
take pains to learn and be involved.

20060815

hitori ka?

i lost at risk to my bro.
his first game or something...
must be the dice got problem.

anyhow,
the discrepancy has been alleviated.
all information is in aggrement with each other.
the only thing now is who and why.
though i can speculate much, i would really like to know, but it will prolly be a while til i ever know.
seems people don't tell me things.
need to accidentally find out. or inquire on my own.
i think i'm often left out.
but then again i think i often leave out.

well that doesn't come as much of a surprise, i generally don't fit in with groups. i find lah.
different humour, different behaviour, different interests, different reactions, different perspectives.
different.
feel so awkward at times.

here then will i ask, what exactly is unity?
that we serve the same Lord?
then if apart from that we are different completely what does it mean for us?
that we remain as we are, a foot as a foot, an ear as an ear.
but that we strive to serve others regardless of whatever?
what about imparting our lives then?
we know each other and about each other.
we spur each other on. we encourage each other along. we take time for others.
we don't know for ourselves, we know for others. we know for the work.
when people don't think so, is the onus on us to inquire?
when we don't share.
is it because we do not trust? we are afraid to trust?
do i trust? have i trusted?
on what basis do we trust?
people share when their trust has been earned...
rambling again.

GTO, meet...GTC

things about rae's english teacher.
Mr Chua.
26 years old. married.
teaches english and maths.
english major.
always enters the class with a smile.
supposedly loved by the kids.

i love hearing stories from my aunties.

he came to class and did not want to reveal his age to the kids(p4 mind you), so they coerced him to make it a practice that every time it was somebody's birthday, he would not give homework. he agreed, and this lasted until term 3. then he had to change.
there were times when birthdays were stringed together...lol...3 day combo!
but the thing is that he BOTHERED to remember each person's birthday.
commendable.

once he issued an assignment, and the kids were supposed to compose a poem.
for each word ending in -ble, he would give one marshmallow.
there were kids receiving 200 marshmallows!
then they went to find his blog AND his wife's blog and tease him, posting on his wife's one.
"does he treat you well?" they would ask his wife, "does he give YOU marshmallows?"...
and his wife would reply them "no he did not give me marshmallows..."
that was hilarious.

when kids are naughty, he would make them stand.
"stand up"
he would say.
then they would stand.
"now....i want you to give yourself a hug."
DIAOOO!!!!
or once, a girl accidentally threw something at him.
but nobody knew cause it was a frenzied state in the class.
he made the entire class stand and sit one by one until he found the culprit.
when he knew that it was the girl,
he said,
"to punish you, i will now....read you a passage."
DIAOOOOOO!!!!

this guy is amazing.
and the kids love him.
wow. i'd love to meet him, or at least see him teach.
maybe it's the school he teaches at that's good.
that's probably it.
good primary school.

UNSTOPPABLE

the deadline for our irony essay was last monday.
so i handed it in on monday.
but it was counted as late.
why?
because i put in the wrong place.
supposed to put in teacher's pigeon hole i put in teacher's box.
haiii...so late loh....great...

i also had a wonderful dream this morning in the library.
something about me and 2 other friends becoming very big after one friend completed a quest and the rest of us ate some bar thing.

was supposed to do vector homework but i felt tired so napped instead.

we had superpowers and nobody could stand in our way...

when i woke up, the people that i remembered were supposed to be behind me weren't.
they were quite noisy so i remember. and one of them sounded like cham cham but wasn't him cause i saw him at the other end of the library, but when i looked, he wasn't there either.

saw the clock.
15 min late for tutorial.
laughed to myself, AND at myself.

went downstairs, saw ariffin.
asked him what he was doing there.
he asked me the same question.
turns out we had the choice of either discussing our project in class or in the library.
but my group chose class....

went up the stairs.
went to the wrong class.
laughed again.
met teacher and explained
she didn't seem that bothered.
all in all a funny experience.

20060812

managed to find what i wanted....WOOHOO!

i never knew that there were so many singaporeans who loved reading.
i wonder why i never see such queues at libraries...

went down to the NLB bookfair this morning.
didn't expect to find any book in particular, but just wanted to go for the fun of it...
THE QUEUE WAS SO SUPER LONG.
you had to queue all the way to the end of the expo just to go in...

decided to wait for the queue to dissolve.
figured that it would take less hassle than if i queued up...and that i would not have to wait that long anyway.
bad judgement.
good thing we eventually joined it like regular singaporeans do...instead of sitting around to find that out that the queue was going to take longer thatn expected to dissolve...

however, something good came out off waiting beforehand...
i managed to get the book i wanted without even having to step into the place!

i was sitting near the queue observing the people in it...when suddenly....ELSIE appeared!
called out to him and was glad to have found a companion through all this.
think he felt the same way...
asked him about what he was getting and stuff and also managed to find out that his dad has a couple of chesterton books lying around at home!
woohoo!

i see providence in this....
that i found out about the fair.
that i was able to go.
that i went.
that i waited.
that he came later.
that we bumped into each other.
that he had what i wanted.
but i don't know what all this is leading to.
just have to wait and see i guess....

we joined the queue after waiting for a while then explored the place for an hour or two then left for lunch.
pleasant afternoon.
i got some weird books that i only got cause they were cheap.

but that is only secondary, for in this...a greater triumph has emerged!
can't wait to get the stuff...told him to drop off the books at EH the next time he's there..

happy birthday to my bro.
14 and growing ever rounder.=)

20060810

~~i'm goin' to the zoo~zoo~zoo~~

reconnaissance phase of operation happy zoo day complete.

and yes,
thoroughly enjoyed the trip to the zoo.
went with ah kong and ah pui.
pui told me he could make it last night and that he wanted to play with the digital slr(d100 i think) from school so ok loh. besides, if he comes means.....hehehe...
successful on the ride back...wahaha
...all according to plan....

i used an old film contax(zhi hao mentioned film being dead or something, BUT I DON'T CARE!!) ah kong used an eos, 10d or something.

we went the wrong way though...

took train to boon lay.
told by the station staff that supposed to go choa chu kang.
went to choa chu kang.
took a bus.
FINALLY REACHED!

spent like 3 hours at the zoo..snapping away.

we didn't really spend too much time at each enclosure(had in mind to leave that to another day and just quickly skim through the place today), but in the end we still only barely managed to explore half the place.

it's that huge.

and the animals are fascinating.
all so varied, and their behaviours...so...*sigh*...fascinating...
truly remarkable.
how did God come up with so many designs?
and some so radically different from the other...
pure genius.
duh.
it's THE Creator you're talking about here.
creativity flows out from Him.
our creativiy is borrowed.
His is TRULY created.
i ought to do this more often.

but must remember that not everybody will enjoy it at the pace that i'm planning on going at.
some people will be bored watching the same thing for extended peiods of time, finding little pleasure in observing the minutiae of the animal's behaviour.
i think the karate master will like it though...

OK! need to look out for another free holiday!

unfit.. need training.

i strained my hamstring yesterday when climbing.
and i think my shoulders are a bit strained also because of some position while climbing.

wah now body aching.
just now played some cazy soccer barefooted.
crazy because in a court so small, we were playing 9 a side. heh, some people barely got to touch the ball.
crazy.
then some of the rules is anyhow one.

bob came down eventually and wowed everyone as usual.
kuan sen played barefooted too.
but he ended up with 6 blisters when i counted.
hai, you have much learn young one....
but woohoo, he brought the goods.
it did not even occur to me that he was to bring it...but anyhow.....
YEAH!
would have love'd to play longer but had to zhao to go celebrate joon chung's and turtle's b'days along with min sen's and joon chungs gradutaion(finally eh?).

the later part at eh aftenoon aslo funny.
miss lin want to chalenge girls against guys.
lol.
sure lose loh. dun need fight.

now i am pooped. need sleep.
tmr! zoo photo trip!
yay!

see the mistakes mad when i'm tired....

20060809

the old is better than the new? sometimes.

the bane of technology.
arrrrr.
msn fails me.
and so does this silly blogger thing.
and hand phones.
and projectors.
and thumbdrives.
and ez-link.
and dvd's.
and excel.
and word.
sometimes, the old way of doing things is better.

20060808

the list is an absolute good. the list is life.

found a bright but cool and windy spot to read!
spent the afternoon reading.
sat at the window of my parent's bed room.
very enjoyable.

after that i watched schindler's list.
just that i saw the wrong side of the dual layered dvd from school and only discovered it after i finished watching.
meaning that i only saw the last third of the show without realising it until after it finished.
but very well done i must say.
that last 1 hour alone was powerful.
powerful...enough...to make me...
power...

went to eh to climb and meet minsen.
haiii..
underclimbed. was not able to exert myself until failure.
and also still cannot make it. did not plan properly.
need to train somemore. not getting any younger.
yosh! this fri see if can climb somemore!

will finish the front of the movie later.
with nice cold sng bueh zhui and snyder's of hannover!
cool. happy day.

GARNET CROW - Kimi wo Kazaru Hana wo Sakasou (CDTV)

another song that i want.
man...youtube is HUGE

twas a happy day. twill be happy days.

yayayay!
happy day.
was able to check out the difficulty finals today!
cool....and there were amazingly young climbers there too.
a 16 year-old japanese boy.
a 17 year-old korean girl...with muscles that would put me to shame i think...
hehe...motivated even more to train...
i've decided that i may set some stakes for myself as a motivation to lead the roof...but that'll be decided at another time.

also went to check out the sports ambassadors play against the national team selections.
selections as in not full starting national team, but rather those whoe could make it.
final score was like 73-58 i think...i can't remember.
but even more amazing was that yet again i was shown the drawing power of ang mohs.

when they ask spectators to stay back just for a while...PEOPLE STAY BACK.
when dave shared, though there was background noise...PEOPLE SIT AND LISTEN.
i'm not sure how much they managed to hear because of the noise, but,
when dave finished sharing, and budd thanked the people for listening..PEOPLE APPLAUDED.

and you really get to see the passion for evangelism in some of the SA.
really really gah gah chiong one.
amazing. real admiration.
such focus.
such purpose.
whatever the conditions were like...they stilled tried their best to share.

on the way back, another refreshing experience.
chang loong, minsen and ah tat in the car. minsen drived.
i sat at the back with chang loong, but he left first so i was alone most of the time.
ah tat was doing most of the talking and the others suaning.
i just listened and laughed.
but as ah tat shared about his recent happenings, you could see the friendship that the three have, growing up together in the same church...now all adults but still good friends and still suaning...
cool...and also how he so willingly shared his life, the transpareny and humility in that sense, i wonder if i could be like that.
well that was fun, and funny.

the week ahead looks to be exciting.
i can't wait!

tuesday climb.
wednesday afterglow then soccer.
thursday zoo photo trip then basketball.
yea man.
pumped and set to go.
LET'S HIT THE ROCKS!

20060805

well, i caught some ascents on video...

went down to check out the world cup just now.
more pumped to hit the rocks on tuesday. i can't wait.
but too bad, i missed the difficulty qualifiers.
only made it in time to watch the speed qualifiers.
tomorrow is the difficulty and speed finals and i doubt if i can go....
it would make me glad to just catch one successful difficulty ascent....
haiii...but i doubt that will happen...
oh well. some things will still take precedence over others. =)

also. this guy just continues to amaze me.
karate master turns out to have had years of dance dance revolution training... what i think is in the name of footwork training for karate.
that's cool man.
i wish i could learn a bit of dancing.
maybe ballet would be cool...

Finals - Sendfest 2005

WOW. too bad they don't show all....
sharma steals the show again...
and supposedly he had food poisoning the day before...

tong huahuahua

yesterday the guys from carpenter's tools international came over to perform a bit before romans trail.
they were good, but more importantly there arose some amazing things from the whole incident.

firstly, i heard that there were 50 PAY-UP's for garage in the school they visited that morning.
not considering.
not even sign-ups mind you.
FIFTY PAY-UPS!!!!
things we only dream off.
other event you'd be happy to have 50 sign-ups let alone PAY-UPS the day before the event. AMAZING.
this is the drawing power of ang mohs.

or could it be Kyle?
i heard they went crazy over Kyle at KC. girls were screaming and zhaoing class just to see him sing.
and his card sells like pancakes. just that we don't actually sell them, we give them away. if we sold them, we'd be rich.

which is the second thing.
girls really do get smitten over Kyle i think.
he was performing tong hua yesterday.
yes an ang moh singing a chinese song.
nevermind some off pronunciations, he did a pretty good job, but more importantly...it was hilarious.
i was sitting front row with dong.
behind me was minsen.
way at the back was linda.
minsen was laughing more or less throughout, taking out his handphone and waving it...and laughing at linda...
i turned around.
i started laughing too.
she was singing...starry-eyed and all...mesmerised by the performance...or the performer?
i wanted to tell dong.
HE WAS DOING THE SAME THING!!!
singing along also...in a daze...
wow.
linda. ok lah. can understand.
dong?
ok lah.
can understand.
haha...pure comedy, with nice music on the side.
miss puah has the soft copy of Kyle's picture.
i'm not implying anything.

boh liao to the max

the order of strength and why i think so.
this is something that i've had in mind for quite a while.

1. Himura Kenshin
obviously because he's never been defeated, he's been close to defeat,
but not defeated...like against shishio and enishi (and if u want to
include, hiko)
...but shishio, he was already whacked up by soujiro and aoshi before
that, while for enishi, after his ougi was broken he was still proven to be
stronger, just that enishi ran away (and of course he's the
protagonist...so obviously he's the strongest).
and if ever more persuasion is needed, this is the best reason: the
only reason why he did NOT dispatch of enemies sooner was because his
blade was reversed. if it were a regular blade...nobody would be his
match.

2. Shishio Makoto
he is in my opinion, the second strongest character in the series.
first and foremost, he was the only character who went on fighting
after receiving the ougi.
also, he defeated all 3 of the strongest in one bout after taking
kenshin out(excluding hiko..he is extra lah...)
and he recieves commendation from kenshin too. all in all, he's not
just strong but also smart...real smart...and the power of his ougi(or tsui no hiken actually)wasn't seen also...what a shame. also must remember that he fights with a handicap as well...a bit similar to kenshin in that respect.

3. Soujiro Seta
2nd and 3rd would be between him and shishio. he's 3rd because shishio
remained the boss all the while, and he was taught by him, so by
deduction shishio ought to be stronger. BUT he has the potential to be
THE strongest. if he learned kenshin's secret to success, he would
improve by leaps and bounds..and very possible overtake kenshin. he
along with shishio came very close to winning kenshin too, so he's my
number three. at one point in time he was my favorite character.

4. Yukishiro Enishi
He funny leh...he is prolly only that strong against kenshin, but he's
got great potential. that nerve thing of his, and the fact that he was
able to break kenshin's ougi definitely counts for much. i wonder if
soujiro is faster or he is faster. i think soujiro.

5. Saito Hajime
He is another funny character. he is actually very strong, but i don't
know his max power, so hard to gauge. he was the closest to defeating
shishio after kenshin...and he could well have killed shishio had
shishio not been prepared.
another notable thing is that he never lost to kenshin. they were
equals in the kamiya dojo(but kenshin never learn ougi or kyusuryusen
yet), and he was able to force kenshin into battousai mode. very
formidable, and at the same time hard to grasp.

6. Shinomori Aoshi
How strong is he? could he have defeated kenshin during the shishio arc? well, the heartless him would not win the heartless battousai. but he was very strong. after he gives up his ambition to defeat kenshin he seems to have become very calm and non-confrontational so like not max power. but shishio praised his ougi as being formidable if he was not injured...so that too must count for something.

7. Sagara Sanousuke
Finally he comes up. he's got that amazing punch but after the shishio bout he was plagued by the hand injury...until he learns how to overcome it in his last fight. his opponents like not that strong lidat...the 4-stars guy was weak in my opnion and so was that tekkou(is that right?) guy. his most spectacular fight was against anji an equally strong fighter. where he did his third level punch..only time he did it though...forgot what it's called...mitae no kiwami? or something...only prob is he got no sword.

8. Usui.
If he can react fast with super hearing then he's got to have some strength...but he ain't that great. not much opinions on him. sanousuke can win him i think...just do what anji did and he'll be fine.

from here onwards are the extras..people hard to rank due to one reason or another.

1. Hiko Seijuro
This guy lah. make my life difficult. as the master of the hiten mitsurugi ryu, he's extremely strong. just that he doesn't involve himself witht eh issues of the outside world. not enough is known about him for me to make an accurate decision. he might be as strong as kenshin. or slightly weaker than shishio.
why i say so is because he lost to kenshin due to kenshin's will to live. this will power he displayed in his kenki but splitting the leaevs while fighting shishio, who posessed a similar kenki that made the fire respond.so, if hiko lacks this kenki, then he would be ranked below shishio. but if not, then he would possibly be as strong as kenshin.

2. Myojin Yahiko
The small him is not THAT weak, but still not good enough for the above list. But after he grow up...he got credible skill i think, just that cannot gauge again cause rarely see him fight. he still lost to kenshin. BUT he got that ougi of his. the idea is, if he can break your sword, then you have nothig left to fight with. provided he can catch your sword. so therefore if baldes move too fast, then in theory, he would lose to such people. hence, he would be ranked about 6th after saito...but he was said to be the strongest sword at a particular point in tim(dunno what soujiro doing...)

3. Iwambo
I don't know that guy's name in japanese..the skull face guy who controls iwambo. he in side iwambo is strong. required ougi to be destroyed. he would rank about 6th also. only thing is that he is considered quite cheapo cause he does not use any blade. as a regular guy he isn't much as aoshi easily disposes of him.

yes this is quite lame. open to discussion..heh

What about the good people? Is God angry with them too?

Of Course NOT!
God loves good people!

Just that there are none.

it just makes me remember

certain songs trigger memories.
i don't know why, but they just do.
sometimes, the song can have absolutely no link to the memory, but it just makes me think about it.
like certain songs remind me of particular anime though they are from different series.
certain seesaw songs remind me of tsubasa chronicles.
another couple of songs that do this that i am very aware of are the gensomaden saiyuki songs.
i think particularly the "open up your mind" song.
it's an ending song i think.
it reminds me of climbing.
i'm not entirely sure why.
but it could be...4 years back.
when i got my shoes....and i was taking a bus home, they played that song on tv mobile.
or i was listening to it on an mp3 player.
so maybe that song reminds me of when i first got my climbing shoes.
or it could be when after a session at bukit merah, when i was taking a bus home, then that happened.
whatever it is.
taht song stimulates that memory which stimulates the desire to climb.
next tuesday i'm climbing.

hey happy birthday to miss puah.
still with amazing zombie powers.
yes..the undead....

behind me

kc is having a monolgue with himself right now.
hilarious

kambing soup and 12 hrs of sleep does you gooooood

it was raining yesterday after school.
wonderful time to go eat kambing soup and roti john.
which was what i did.
so me and dad went down to bedok camp and had a nice bowl of original kambing soup as well as a plate of roti john.
then i came home and slept.

i woke up 12 hrs later.

but 12hrs of sleep does you good especially before your longest day.
usually by now i would be feeling horrible.
but alas i don't!
stayed awake for all the lectures today and thoroughly enjoyed lit(it's become my favorite lesson i think).
AND i finally got back my ping pong bat!
yayayay...who wants to challenge me!?

wondering if i should go climb tonight...but i think i'd better not.
i want hum jin beng...
