i hate z-battles.
i think most people do...
z-battles are when you feel sleepy(to the point where you can fall asleep within less than half a minute of shut-eye) but try to stay awake.
these battles were common for me during jc lectures. actually, these battles were common for me during jc. sometimes i also fight them during sermons :x and meetings :X. they've also occurred during some of the shows hat i've watched.
these battles are often accompanied by bobbing heads, extended "blinks", watery eyes, and constant yawns.
sometimes they can continue over a span of a few lectures. very sian. can't concentrate, but want to. just look at some of my lecture notes and you can tell when i had some of these battles.
those pages with terrible(i mean really really terrible. cannot fight my usual even) hand writing and incomplete equations that end with lines strewn across the page are when i resisted.
those blank pages are when i gave up fighting all together.
sometimes it goes away after i've resisted long enough. sometimes a few jumps and a splash of water to the face do the trick. but sometimes, both methods fail.
actually, another way of getting over it is to give in and just take a quick nap. fall asleep very fast one, then wake up can liao. no more z-battle.
can come back lah, of course, but not so fast. a quick nap can give you some precious minutes of concentration.
heh.
just now i had a z-battle. the group effect drained me ba. and the whole day out also. so i was dozing off for the front bit of the rally. good thing i got over it in time for the talk proper. there were a couple of relapses, but those were overcome easily.
haha. time to sleep :)
facebook.
looks complicating.
dunno how to use.
so many things to press.
is a young people thing la...
:)
in london now!
it's 6 am here and 2 pm in singapore!
haha!
the place is really really really cold. ok la, i exaggerate. really cold. not really really really cold yet. but cold enough for that smokey thing to come out from my mouth when i exhale in the morning(and is not bad breath can?)
hmm. been here since wed liao.
in total i've missed one jc camp, one wedding, and one sunday skool.
haha, more to miss in the coming week!
but...wun die la ah? heh. later hopefully can hear vaughn roberts in person!
hi-light of the trip!
going to saint ebbes, oxford. sevice is at 6.30 in the evening...i think we'll stick out like a sore thumb. he's going to speak on the ten commandments i think. really looking forward to it. maybe can invite him to come to tcpc to speak? and maybe have a teaching conference there? and maybe also impart some wisdom to the elders and deacons and pastor of tcpc? and maybe he'd move to singapore and be resident speaker at tcpc? and maybe...haha. enough!
the weather forecast said that it's gonna be a rainy day tho...urgh. hope still can go out. the rainy day in london very sian one. yesterday was a rainy day(today was sunny, thank God! ah. rainy day also must thank God hor? :) )and the whole day(whenever it was day at least) seemed like it was perpetually evening! haha.
from morning, the moment the sun came out, it seemed like it was a cloudy grey evening in singapore liao. all the way to evening, still a cloudy grey evening. then night. a dark stormy night(actually just rainy la) ;)
but the cool thing is...despite being so drenched in the rain yesterday, when we came back and took off our jackets and all, WE WERE ALL DRY. waha! amazing that we can be so wet on the outside but so dry on the inside. cool man.
more adventures to come! like getting lost on my own and making my way back home..heh. we'll see...
