happened to catch some random highlights of the winter games last night.
think i'm becoming a fan of curling already. haha.
and i want to try skiing one day. like ski jumping looks awesome. i think flying down is super cool la.
anyway also caught a bit of the women's figure skating event. the short program i think it's called.
and there's this girl, joannie rochette from canada.
her mother had just passed away a couple of days ago after reaching vancouver for the games. wah seh. how to compete like that sia..
so that's the back story.
saw parts of her performance on the ice. and, as i suppose is mandatory, she was smiling widely through her whole program which they say she is dedicating to her mom.
so as she's nailing her jumps, i'd guess that the thought of her mom is floating about in her head loh. and she's still smiling. she must ba.
and then she completes her last bit and the performance stops with her in her end pose. still fighting back the tears.
and then she starts to cry.
emo sia.
she gotta psycho herself to smile for that short program while thinking of her mom keeping the sadness inside. the feeling sucks la.
but very commendable. olympics is nice to watch...
